Capcom announced that the Resident Evil 4 remake would be getting the Mercenaries Mode, free of charge, on April 7th.
The launch trailer that was released when the game came out, only showed the extra mode’s release date for brief time at the end. No other details were offered. However, if it is similar to the original Resident Evil 4’s version, it will see players killing as many enemies as possible within an allotted timeframe, before an evacuation helicopter arrives.
Resident Evil Village also has a Mercenaries mode where players went through stages killing as many enemies as possible to build up a combo meter (thus achieving a high score), before moving to the next challenge.
The original Resident Evil 4 had a couple of additions to the games as well, like the extra story campaigns called “Separate Ways” and “Assignment Ada.” Capcom has not confirmed if these stories will be represented in the Resident Evil 4 remake, but there is a dataminer out there that believes so.
