Mass Effect Easter Egg Found In A Very Unlikely Source

There have been some very strange easter eggs in recent years, but this one takes the whole cake. It was discovered, of all places, inside an Amazon AI device. Siri might be jealous.

In a Eurogamer post, people on Reddit found out (what they described as the “useless tip of the day”) when you ask an Amazon Echo or Echo Dot the question “Does this unit have a soul?”, it will respond with,“Keelah se’lai, my friend.” This is, of course, is a reference to the Geth character Legion as it asks its creator in Mass Effect 3.

A Twitter user by the name of TheAlbionGirl, who formerly worked for Lionhead, Codemasters, and EA, posted a video of this strange easter egg. You can check it out below, she is British, so don’t be alarmed:

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be launching March 21st in the U.S for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and the 23rd in the UK. Over this last week a lot has been confirmed for the game including support for HDR on all platforms, and that it will not have a season pass. Pre-loading for Andromeda will begin on March 17th, which is odd, and PC requirements will be revealed sometime next month. Thanks to TheAlbionGirl for the video, it was really cool. Check out her podcast, and like her video if you’re a Mass Effect fan.
