Announced by Tangentleman today (the devs behind Here They Lie) on the PlayStation Blog, they informed players of the PS4 Pro update for Here They Lie.
First off, when you update the game tomorrow, you will be able to play it without using the PS VR headset with the Standard Edition. If you already own the PS VR version you will be receiving the update automatically through a downloadable patch. Anyone who purchases the game after today will get both versions of Here They Lie.
The PS4 Pro patch is also coming out, so players with 4K televisions and monitors/ HDR support for the Standard version. That means higher quality render-mode for PS4 Pro, especially on PS VR. Be prepared for better shadows, post-processing, dynamic flashlight shadows, and ambient occlusions.
There were also new additions in the update, including:
- controller configuration screen
- Chapter Select screen
- subtitles (only for Standard Version)
- a slew of visual upgrades
They have also made changes for the PS VR Rangers. They have improved head tracking globally for a smoother, more accurate, and more immersive experience. Additionally, they reworked texture streaming to improve sharpness of the visuals throughout the world. Extra tutorial screens have been added to the PS VR. You will be able to switch between the VR and Standard editions, seamlessly.
