Insomniac games, developer of the most recent PlayStation 5 exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, is currently hiring for a brand-new project. What’s more surprising is that Insomniac’s new title will be a multiplayer of sorts. Naturally, the studio is looking for experienced game developers to lead the project.
There are five job listings in total, including creative director, a role that requires experience at every stage throughout the project’s development–from the early stages to its launch. Other listings include a systems designer, specifically with multiplayer mechanics and system design, as well as a story lead that will help to shape a narrative, script, and lore. Job listings for art director and VFX artist are the last ones mentioned in the post, indicating that the multiplayer title hasn’t ever started forming yet.
Insomniac made no mention whether these listings were for a game that already exists or a brand new IP. Insomniac is typically associated with with single-player games, especially in recent years. The studio has released multiplayer titles in the past, with the most successful being the Resistance franchise.
The studio has been doing really well as of late, with the release of Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PS4 and PS5 late in 2020, as well as the recent launch of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart exclusively for the PS5 this month.
