It hasn’t been that long since the developer Guerrilla Games showed off 14 minutes of gameplay footage from Horizon Forbidden West, and now some disappointing news has surfaced about the title.
PlayStation Studios boss Herman Hulst stated in an interview on the PlayStation Blog that Forbidden West should release this holiday, but that’s not a guarantee. “For Horizon, we think we are on track to release this holiday season. But that isn’t quite certain yet, and we’re working as hard as we can to confirm that to you as soon as we can,” Hulst said.

Hulst quote was all he had to say about the matter, with Guerrilla games not commenting on the situation at all. Any number of reason could be cause for a delay, as the world is just now starting to come out COVID-19 pandemic.
While Forbidden West did look good during the its State of Play showcase, this doesn’t mean the game is ready to be shipped. Whenever it is ready, it will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Another high-profile PlayStation title, the God of War sequel, has seen an unfortunate fate. Sony has delayed the Santa Monica Studio developed game to 2022.
