An update is now available for the first entry in the Hellblade saga. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has been optimized fro the Xbox Series X and S giving players access to some new graphical features, like ray tracing, along with a other benefits.
A trailer for the Xbox-optimized version of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice shows the game’s new look in “enriched visuals mode” with ray tracing on. The video also reveals that players can select different resolution modes.
A new page on the game’s website explains all the changes coming with today’s update. On both consoles, Senua’s Sacrifice can be played with ray tracing in the game’s enriched visuals mode, although it will only run at 30fps.
Series S players won’t have the option for 4K resolution or frame rates above 60fps. In Performance mode. the game runs at 1080p, 60fps while resolution mode can bring it up to 1440p and 30fps. Series X players however, can enjoy Senua’s Sacrifice at up to 4K resolution on both the enriched and resolution modes at 30fps and 60fps, respectively. Performance mode on the Series X runs the game at up to 1080p and 120fps.
The website also confirmed that today’s update will also be coming to the PC eventually. The update for that version is currently in development and doesn’t have a release date. It also appears that Ninja Theory has no plans to bring the upgrade to the PS4 version of the game.
