Grand Theft Auto V is coming up on its eighth year and continues to be a rather popular game, prompting Rockstar to bring the game to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game will making the leap to a third generation of consoles on November 11th of this year. Rockstar also announced that the standalone edition of GTA Online for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will launch the same day.
PlayStation users will be getting a special bonus with the standalone, including the game being free for the first three months, ending on February 2022. PlayStation Plus users on PS4 have been claiming GTA $1,000,000 every month in GTA Online until it comes to the PS5.
Previously, Rockstar spoke about the difference the new editions of GTA V will deliver because of the power of these next-gen consoles.
“The new generation versions of GTAV will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever,” Rockstar said.
Rockstar also teased that summer updates will be coming to GTA Online that will have “special benefits” for players “to take advantage of in these expanded and enhanced versions when they drop.”
On top of this, Rockstar is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of GTA III with “fun surprises,” with some of them specifically for GTA Online. Meanwhile, GTA V has sold 140 million copies since the games original debut on Xbox 360/PS3 way back in 2013.
