Gotham Knights, the next Batman game in the series, has been delayed until 2022. Warner Bros. shared the news on Twitter, making it clear the game won’t drop before the end of the year, as previously announced. The delay is needed for additional development time, although WB didn’t specify if this was attributed to COVID-19, which has been the cause for a number of other delays.
“We are giving the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for players. We look forward to showcasing more of the game in the coming months,” Warner Bros. stated.
This is the second high-profile WB game to be delayed to 2022, as they previously moved the open-world Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy to next year as well. In both cases, Warner Bros. did not mention the pandemic having an impact on development.
