While little is known about the highly anticipated sequel, God of War: Ragnarok — other than a basic 2021 release window — Santa Monica Studio has revealed a little bit of details about the 2018 reboot of God of War, and what to expect on the PS5. The studio announced easy save transfers for the God of War reboot to the PS5, as well as save transfers for God of War III.

God of War (2018) will offer up to 60 FPS, with the Favor Performance option, improving upon the choppy frame rate of the original PS4 version. God of War III was originally released on the PS3 back in 2010, but Santa Monica remastered the game in 2015 for the PS4, hence why you can transfer saves to the PS5

Sony has already stated that the PS5 will be backwards compatible with 99% of the PS4’s library. Of course, it won’t be offering support for PS1, PS2 or the PS3. Some PS4 games will have improved performance on the PS5, but it’s unclear what games will be affected.
