As of December, Epic Games Store finished up it’s first full year as a PC game launcher. Previously, Epic stated they would be giving away a free title every two weeks, which became one or two games a week.
This program was supposed to end after December, but Epic announced today they will still be giving away free games during 2020. Games will be given away every single week, for the whole year.
Those with an Epic Store account will be able to claim these titles and, as before, these games are yours to keep forever. New games rotate every Thursday, and depending on the games rating, Epic will give away another title. If a game is rated M or PEGI-18, a second title for younger players will also be given out.
Epic also released some numbers from their first year, and it looks like they had a busy year. They gave away 73 games, totaling $1,455 in total value and over 200M free games have been claimed. PC players have spent $680M in the Epic Games Store, with $251M spent on third-party games. The top three most active countries in December 2019 was the United States at 17.24%, Russia at 10.15% and China at 8.36%.
