Since Verdansk is being overrun by zombies, why not also turn players into flesh-eating undead as well? Well, that’s happening right now in Call of Duty: Warzone–under specific circumstances of course.

If you’re in Solos, zombification won’t happen. The only way to become a zombie is to be on a team in Duos, Trios, or Quads. Players who then land at Ship Wreck or Prison in Verdansk will have to come into contact with green gas that deals continuous damage.

Dying to this amorphous gas will redeploy players as a zombie with three abilities: a Charged Jump, EMP Blast, and Gas Grenade.

It’s unclear what happens if a zombie player wins a match. However, if the whole team dies, so does the zombie player.

Warzone players likely remember a similar incident that happened last year, when The Haunting of Verdansk added Trick-Or-Trios and Zombie Royale game modes to celebrate Halloween.

This player zombification comes as co-developer Raven Software is inching closer to nuking Verdansk on April 21st, the same day Season 2 ends. In other Warzone news, Raven has announced they’ve banned 450,000 players from the free-to-play game.
