Bliz­zard Enter­tain­ment has revealed new details for Dia­blo II: Res­ur­rect­ed, includ­ing an ear­ly access test that begins this week and open beta that will begin lat­er. Bliz­zard went through all the details in a blog post, but you can check out the key infor­ma­tion below.

Diablo II: Resurrected Early Access

The ear­ly access test is set to begin on Fri­day, August 13th at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Every­one who pre­orders Res­ur­rect­ed or Dia­blo Prime Col­lec­tion across con­sole and PC, can play the ear­ly access test. Pre-load­ing begins today, August 11th. The test will end on August 17th at 10 AM PT.

Diablo II:Resurrected Open Beta

The Res­ur­rect­ed open beta is a lit­tle lat­er on in the month, start­ing August 20th and end­ing August 23rd. Pre-load­ing for the open beta starts on August 17th for con­sole users and August 18th for PC. The open beta is free and avail­able for everyone. 

To men­tion, Bliz­zard’s blog post and social media posts have dif­fer­ent end dates for the Dia­blo II: Res­ur­rect­ed ear­ly access and beta peri­ods. How­ev­er, the offi­cial blog post say­ing says the test­ing peri­ods will end a day later.

Xbox Live Gold And PS Plus Requirements

Xbox Live Gold is required for the ear­ly access beta but not the open beta. It is still required at launch. PS Plus isn’t required for the ear­ly access or the open beta, but you will need it when the game offi­cial­ly launches.

Not Available On The Switch

The Dia­blo II: Res­ur­rect­ed ear­ly access and open beta are not avail­able on the Switch. Bliz­zard said in a blog post, We are work­ing close­ly with our plat­form part­ners to ensure a suc­cess­ful launch of Dia­blo II: Res­ur­rect­ed on all plat­forms,” but gave no rea­son as to why the Switch was left out. How­ev­er, every­one who pre-orders on Switch gets the Her­itage of Arreat trans­mog at launch.

Multiplayer And Cross-Progression

The ear­ly access and open beta tests sup­port cross-pro­gres­sion. Up to eight play­ers can play togeth­er in on one game of multiplayer.

Here’s What’s Playable

Act I: The Sight­less Eye and Act II: The Secret of the Viz­jerei will be playable in the ear­ly access and open beta. The new cin­e­mat­ics for both chap­ters will also be seen dur­ing the tests. Five of the game’s sev­en playable class­es are avail­able in dur­ing both tests, includ­ing Ama­zon, Bar­bar­ian, Sor­cer­ess, Druid, and Paladin.

Progress

Progress from the Dia­blo II: Res­ur­rect­ed ear­ly access test car­ries for­ward to the open beta, but Bliz­zard did­n’t men­tion if progress would move on to full game launch.

Dia­blo II: Res­ur­rect­ed launch­es on Sep­tem­ber 23rd. Par­ent Com­pa­ny Activi­sion Bliz­zard is cur­rent­ly being sued by the State of Cal­i­for­nia over claims about its “frat boy” cul­ture and dis­crim­i­na­tion and harass­ment of women.
