It has been known that a sequel to Destiny is supposed to be released this year, but a specific date was never given by Activision. Now a release date for September 8th 2017 has been leaked.
The information first appeared on Lega Network. They received images of a promotional poster from an Italian GameStop. Another image appeared on imgur which is pictured above.
The poster itself shows Destiny’s three different classes without their helmets on. The poster also has a small section that suggests the Beta will be coming to PS4 first.
If this is real ‑it seems PS getting Destiny 2 exclusive Beta access first (unsurprising) pic.twitter.com/FTgdN8YLOE

Multiple websites have since confirmed that this information is correct. EuroGamer has stated that the Beta will release sometime in June. Kotaku also confirmed the release date and suggest that the official announcement will come soon. In addition they state that there will be a PC version of Destiny 2.
More images of the poster have since been posted on Twitter and various other sites.

Not much is known about Destiny 2 however the following statement about the game was released last month.
“For anyone who either hasn’t yet tried Destiny or hasn’t played in a while, we think we’ve made a sequel that’s going to have a lot for them to love, too. The cornerstone of that is a great cinematic story that’s been a real focus with a great cast of memorable, relatable characters, coupled with some very nice ways to make the game more accessible to a casual player. Without losing anything that our core players love, we’ve made it more accessible to someone who just wants to have a great, more casual first-person action experience.”
