The Dead Space remake from EA Motive is now targeting an early 2023 release. Although this doesn’t necessarily mean a delay, since the game never received an official release window, it was previously reported it would launch in 2022.
Just ahead of the Dead Space livestream where this release window was announced, reports had made rounds of a possible kind-of-delay. Right now, the remake is doing well internally at EA, but the company wants fans to be as impressed with the remake as they are with Capcom’s Resident Evil remakes.
The stream showed an in-depth look at some of the audio systems used to create the creepy atmosphere, ending the video with the release window announcement. The EA Motive team with hosting another stream in May, focusing on the art design.
Dead Space was initially created by Visceral Games and was hailed for its horror atmosphere and creative weaponry–it was followed by two sequels. The remake is being handled by EA Motive, the studio behind Star Wars: Squadrons, and will run on the Frostbite Engine.
