The Dead Space remake from EA Motive officially has a release date. Announced during the latest Dead Space stream, the game will launch on January 27th, 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The publisher previously announced that the Dead Space remake would be looking at an early 2023 release date. Obviously, this announcement puts the game as early into the year as it possibly can be. The remake was expected to release in 2022, with reports circulating ahead of the release window announcement that EA wanted to give it more time.
The original Dead Space was developed by Visceral Games and was praised for its dark, creepy atmosphere and combat system. Of course, those who have played the original will not forget the mutated humans that occupy that space station you fight through. Visceral Games was closed in 2017.
This remake is being developed by EA Motive, the studio who worked on Star Wars: Squadrons. The game will run on the Frostbite engine and will have modern features like immersive sound design, while still remaining faithful to the original version.
