CD Projekt Red still has plans to update and expand Cyberpunk 2077, brining even more bug fixes and free DLC. Unfortunately, these changes won’t be brought to the game until some time in 2022.
And update to the Cyberpunk 2077 roadmap (spotted by VGC) shows the “updates, improvements, and free DLCs” are now scheduled to launch in 2022. Previously, the updates and DLC were supposed to release in 2021. To be more specific, these new updates, DLC, and next-gen upgrades for Cyberpunk 2077 will now be released in Q1 2022 (January-March).
Cyberpunk 2077’s PS5 and Xbox Series X|S edition were scheduled for 2021, but has been delayed to 2022 along with the new-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Cyberpunk 2077 upgrade will come first, followed by The Witcher 3 in Q2 2022.
This coming December is going to be Cyberpunk 2077’s first year anniversary and it’s been quite a year for the game. It had an extremely rocky start, with last-gen users suffering through major issues. It was so bad that Sony removed the game from the PlayStation Store. The game was reinstated back in June, with Sony warning players they could still experience issues when playing on a base PS4.
Despite its issues, Cyberpunk 2077 sold nearly 14 million copies in just under a month, and it’s one of the highest-selling RPGs in the history of gaming.
