Cyberpunk 2077 Documents Being Ransomed, CD Projekt Red Responds

An unknown indi­vid­ual or indi­vid­u­als have got­ten hold of design doc­u­ments for Cyber­punk 2077 and hold­ing them ran­som. These doc­u­ments are said to be from ear­ly devel­op­ment, but the exact time frame is unclear as Cyber­punk 2077 was orig­i­nal­ly announced at the start of 2013. 

CD Pro­jekt Red, the devel­op­er of The Witch­er 3 and Cyber­punk 2077, has refused to give into the demands. Instead they have informed the prop­er author­i­ties and made a state­ment on Twit­ter. In the state­ment they inform gamers that what­ev­er doc­u­ments come out are “large­ly unrep­re­sen­ta­tive” of the cur­rent game. They also state prop­er infor­ma­tion on the game will come when the time is right.

At the time of writ­ing, none of the sup­posed doc­u­ments have sur­faced and no one has been named respon­si­ble for tak­ing them.
