It was previously unknown if Cyberpunk 2077 was ever going to make a return to the PlayStation Store. CD Projekt Red has now confirmed to reporter Stephen Totilo that Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming back on June 21st. The company also confirmed this on their website.
A spokesperson for Sony told IGN that it recommends users play the PS4 Pro or PS5 edition, as the PS4 version still has some issues.
“SIE can confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be re-listed on PlayStation Store starting June 21, 2021,” the spokesperson said. “Users will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition while CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms. SIE recommends playing the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience.”
Earlier today, IGN noticed if you simply searched for Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation 5 store, you could find it. Obviously, this signaled the return of the game to the store.
Back in May, CD Projekt’s Adam Kicinski said the studio remained in contact with Sony, but the decision to restore the game was ultimately up to Sony.
Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from the PlayStation Store in December of 2020 shortly after the game launched because of numerous problems. A refund program started thereafter, were about 30,000 people took advantage of the program.
