CD Projekt Red has that the addition of visible, realistic labia and pubic hair in The Witcher 3 new-gen update was not intentional. The developer is now working on an update that will remove these textures.
This initial report, and CD Projekt Red’s statement, come from Kotaku. Most of the game’s romantic scenes don’t include full frontal female nudity. However, the Bruxa enemies and crones from Crookback Bog (in one particular late-game cutscene) do appear fully nude, even in the original version of The Witcher 3. Genitalia in the original version was handled with a doll-like effect, with the current version having more realistic nudity. Kotaku reached out for comment on this realistic inclusion, with CD Projekt Red replying, We’re looking into it and will have more information in the coming days.”
After reporting on the original topic and receiving the statement, Kotaku then got an email from a CD Projekt Red representative, which read: “The next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt features several community-sourced mods not created by CD PROJEKT RED, on top of numerous enhancements created and implemented by the studio internally. Merging everything together was a complex process and the textures in question are an unintended result present in the release version. This is something we are working to address.”
