CD Projekt has recently released their first 2017 quarterly report. To the company’s surprise they have actually increased profit by 35%. A profit of $7.9 million USD was expected however in reality they have increased from $8.7 million to $12 million USD in profit.
A large amount of this profit increase comes from the developer CD Projekt Red which saw a 35% increase from last year. This mostly comes from sales of The Witcher 3 and two expansions. It is predicted that sales will continue and pick up during holiday sales.
Their digital games distributor GOG made less net profit than the developer however it saw a 495% increase in profit. Showing that the service is seeing healthy growth despite only making 1.5 million PLN.
For now future income relies mostly on GWENT. CD Projekt outlines future plans as intensive marking with next milestones, a Chinese edition of the game, new game modes, paid single-player campaigns and various gaming events/tournaments.
