Activision officially revealed the Call of Duty Season 6 cinematic intro trailer a few days ago, and it shows that some major changes will be on the way to Warzone’s Verdansk map.
The Season 6 trailer moves forward with the Black Ops Cold War narrative from Season 5. Stitch and Kitsune launched the Numbers brainwashing broadcast to compromise Adler and other agents. The recent Season 5 outro video had Woods and Hudson talking about how Adler had gone rogue in Verdansk.
A tease from a recent Call of Duty Season 5 blog post was suggest Verdansk had something going on under the map. This new Season 6 intro trailer made it clear as to what that is, as several explosions can be seen happening in underground bunkers. The video shows a number of points of interest, like the Stadium, getting demolished.
Alex Mason, the main protagonist and brainwashed agent from the original Black Ops title, also made an appearance in the trailer. He is now helping Adler break out of the Numbers program.
While the entire Warzone map has not be destroyed, it looks like there will at least be major map adjustments for Season 6. Verdansk will eventually become a completely different map once Call of Duty: Vanguard drops, taking it back to the 1940s–so don’t get to comfortable with these map changes.
Season 6 of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War starts October 7th.
