The not so surprising release of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Campaign Remastered has arrived, but only for PS4 users. Activision gave no indication they would be launching the remaster, in an attempt to surprise the CoD community. Of course, that didn’t happen.
The first leak surfaced not to long ago on a South Korean rating list. That was followed by a listing on the PSN, then a trailer leaked and shortly after, a full campaign playthrough appeared on YouTube.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered costs $20 and is currently only for PS4 users. PC and Xbox One players won’t be able to play it until April 30th, a little under a month from now.
The game supports up to 4K resolution and HDR on consoles; PC users also get ultrawide support and uncapped frame rates. Activision stated the game boasts “improved texture resolution and detail, revamped animation, remastered audio and much more.” Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was originally developed by Infinity Ward, while the remastered campaign is developed by Beenox.
