Activision has unveiled the Call of Duty Season 6 roadmap for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Players can expect plenty of new content for Cold War’s final season before Call of Duty: Vanguard’s launch. Season 6 will arrive in just a matter of days, on October 7th and includes more multiplayer maps, a new Zombie experience, and drastic Warzone adjustments.
The Haunting Seasonal Event

The Haunting, which is listed as Call of Duty’s seasonal Halloween celebration for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, is set to arrive on October 19th. Unfortunately, no further details were given about the event–but more information will arrive on October 18th.
Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer

There will be three new maps at the launch of Season 6 for Black Ops Cold War:
- Deprogram — standard 6v6 map, that includes Red Doors which allow players to quickly traverse the map. The map is set inside Adler’s brainwashed head.
- Amerika — another standard 6v6 map that’s themed around Burger Town.
- Gluboko — a 2v2 and 3v3 Gunfight map set in an underground vault at the KGB headquarters.
Season 6 will, of course, include new weapons and an operator with the Season 6 battle pass. The original Black Ops protagonist, Alex Mason, will be the featured operator given with the battle pass.

Five new weapons arrive with the season. A lever-action shotgun and an assault rifle can be earned as part of the free tiers of the battle pass. Another new melee weapon can be unlocked via an in-game challenge. Later on in the season, challenges will open up for a new submachine gun and a set of dual-wield melee weapons.
Zombies
Season 6 brings the end to the Black Ops Cold War storyline for Zombies, with the Forsaken map set to arrive at the beginning of the season. Forsaken is the standard round-based map, and it includes the final showdown between Requiem and the Omega Group.
Black Ops 4’s PhD Slider perk is making an appearance again, allowing players to slide into zombies to trigger an explosive effect. The size and damage increases the farther a player slides before impact. PhD Slider can also be upgraded with features like full immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage, the ability to trigger an explosion after falling a distance, and more.

There is also a new Wonder Weapon with the Forsaken map. The Chyrsalax is a crystallized Dark Aether axe that can be found during when doing Forsaken’s quest, completing Trials, or by getting lucky at the Mystery Box.
Zombies will also be getting two new support weapons: the ACR-XD and Hand Cannon.
The ACR-XD looks similar to the multiplay RC-XD, but this version is a Zombies specific weapon. Instead of being a tiny wheeled explosive, it’s fitted with Aetherium Crystal–which acts like a decoy. The sound it emits draws zombies to it, then continuously pulses a small blast that will kill normal enemies.
Warzone Map Adjustments
As revealed in the Season 6 intro trailer, several underground explosions will change Verdansk. Players can expect new points of interest as several fissures have opened up in the ground, exposing WWII-era bunkers to explore.

These areas will tie into Vanguard’s integration next month, as the post states, “Their mysterious nature hints at what will come following Vanguard’s launch…”
Warzone’s original showers Gulag is also making a comeback in Season 6, replacing the Rush-themed Gulag. However, the post suggests some adjustments have been made to how the map is laid out
Regiment Changes
As part of the Season 6 update for Warzone, the Regiments feature will be locked. Activision stated this is to prepare for the transition to a new Clan system.
After October 8th, players will only be able to view their Regiment Roster and inspect players. No one will be able to create, manage, switch, or invite people to a Regiment, use Regiment Tags, or receive Happy Hour rewards after the 8th. Players should also be aware that they have until October 5th to ensure they are “active” in the one Regiment they wish to stay in through Vanguard’s launch on November 5th. It’s looking like Vanguard will only allow players to be in one Clan at a time.
