It’s official, Treyarch has included a battle royal mode into Black Ops 4, with their own twist. This is the first time it will launch in a Call of Duty, which wasn’t super surprising to see during the reveal, because of how popular Fortnite and PUBG have become.
It’s titled Blackout, where the obvious rules for battle royal still stand…the last man alive wins. Blackout is playable solo, or with teams, just like its competitors. But Treyarch’s twist implements elements from every other Black Ops title.
Apparently, the map for Blackout has the biggest map these developers have made, about 1,200 times the size of Nuketown. Some of the locations within this large map are maps from the previous titles. Players will also be using weapons and items from its predecessors, including that annoying little RC car. You can play as Hudson, Reznov, Mason, as well as other characters, and the map also features land, sea, and air vehicles. Blackout is also rumored to have a whopping 140 players (we’ll see as time goes on).
