Battlefield 2042’s Season 1 Is Targeting An Early June Launch

Bat­tle­field 2042’s delayed Sea­son 1 is com­ing up quick­er than you think. Devel­op­er DICE has con­firmed that Sea­son 1 is expect­ed to launch in “ear­ly June.”

This will be Bat­tle­field 2042’s next big update, after the release of 4.1, which already arrived on May 19th. DICE will bring a “full overview” and the patch notes for Sea­son 1 as it get clos­er to its release.

Back in Feb­ru­ary of this year, DICE delayed the launch of Sea­son 1 as the stu­dio was pri­or­i­tiz­ing get­ting the game in a bet­ter state fol­low­ing a rather dis­ap­point­ing launch. “This deci­sion gives us the time to focus on improv­ing the Bat­tle­field 2042 expe­ri­ence while final­iz­ing the devel­op­ment of our sea­son­al con­tent to ensure that it all reach­es our stan­dard for qual­i­ty,” DICE said at the time.

Sea­son 1 is sup­posed to be the first of four sea­sons com­ing to Bat­tle­field 2042 in course of a 12 month peri­od. Those who intend on com­ing back or will con­tin­ue to play until then can expect four new spe­cial­ists, new maps, as well as some “com­plete­ly new con­tent” through­out the four seasons.

“We are com­mit­ted to, and focused on, ensur­ing Bat­tle­field 2042 lives up to our ambi­tions and your expectations–it’s a task we’re ded­i­cat­ed to accom­plish­ing,” DICE said.

Although the game has had its seri­ous strug­gles and launched in Novem­ber, it still man­aged to place fifth in the top US sales charts at the end of 2021. While EA has not released spe­cif­ic sales num­ber for the Bat­tle­field 2042, we know they were not par­tic­u­lar­ly hap­py with shoot­ers figures.
