Battlefield 2042 Crashes On Xbox Series X Consoles, But A Fix Is On The Way

Battlefield 2042 is going through some problems on the Xbox Series X, with players reporting the game completely crashing their console in certain situations. Developer DICE has confirmed that this is system-level issue–on Microsoft’s side–which is also affecting games like FIFA, Madden, and NBA 2K.

DICE announced in a blog post (via Battlefield Bulletin) they will be releasing an update for the issue tomorrow, November 17th, to fix the crashing error. Right now, the update is optional, but will become mandatory on November 23rd.

Player’s can join the Xbox Insider Program (sign up here) and opt in to the Omega Ring if they wish to download the update before its official release.

Battlefield 2042 launched with early access, as well as a 10-hour EA Play trail on November 12th. The game’s servers initially struggled with rubber-banding and “persistence data” errors. However, the game is generally better off now than when it initially launched in its early state, and will likely be a far smoother experience when it fully releases on November 19th.
