Battlefield 1’s Apocalypse DLC Revealed: Here’s What’s Included

DICE final­ly gave up some info about their fourth Bat­tle­field 1 expan­sion, Apoc­a­lypse. For Bat­tle­field 1 Pre­mi­um Pass own­ers, access­ing the con­tent will come in Feb­ru­ary, but no spe­cif­ic date for was giv­ing for its release. How­ev­er, there’s a lot that will be added to the game come Feb­ru­ary, includ­ing 5 new maps, a new game mode, and tons of extras.

Three of the new maps are for the reg­u­lar modes of Bat­tle­field 1, while the oth­er two are des­ig­nat­ed for the new game mode:

Maps

The two maps below are for a new game mode call Air Assault. As you could prob­a­bly tell for your­self, Air Assault brings play­ers into the skies. Dog­fights and planes col­lide in this new mode, that could include a “cli­mac­tic face-off with Airships.”

Melee Weapon

As you can see above, one of the new melee weapons is a cleaver, while the oth­er is a pry­bar, which isn’t shown.

There is only one gun dis­played, the Chauchat-Ribey­rolles SMG, but there are five more to look for­ward to when Apoc­a­lypse launches.

New Gad­gets

This is one gad­get that will deal heavy dam­age to ene­my air­craft, the AA Rock­et Gun for the Assault Class.

New Air­craft

Two new air­craft will be avail­able for the Caporet­to map, he Hansa Bran­den­burg GI and the Air­co DH10.

Oth­er New Additions

All new chal­lenges have also been added to Apoc­a­lypse, includ­ing New Weapons Assign­ments and Ser­vice Assign­ments. Com­plete the Ser­vice Assign­ments to be reward­ed with Specializations.

A new Spe­cial­iza­tion type is also avail­able, Afflic­tions. This is for more advanced play­ers who wish to prove their skill. Afflic­tions will ham­per your sol­dier, acti­vat­ing “Mor­tal” will make you lose 500 score for every respawn, while with “Para­noia” you can play with a gas mask on constantly.

Play­ers can also expect to see the new Livens Pro­jec­tor, which shoots poi­so­nous gas onto your ene­mies. Plus, new Dog Tags, Ser­vice Stars, Codex Entries, Medals, and Rib­bons you can add to your collection.

Before Apoc­a­lypse, Pre­mi­um Pass own­ers call look for­ward to the North Sea cam­paign of the pre­vi­ous expan­sion, Turn­ing Tides. Addi­ton­al­ly, all Bat­tle­field 1 own­ers can access a free map, Prise de Tahure, which was once a DLC exclu­sive map.
