DICE finally gave up some info about their fourth Battlefield 1 expansion, Apocalypse. For Battlefield 1 Premium Pass owners, accessing the content will come in February, but no specific date for was giving for its release. However, there’s a lot that will be added to the game come February, including 5 new maps, a new game mode, and tons of extras.
Three of the new maps are for the regular modes of Battlefield 1, while the other two are designated for the new game mode:
The two maps below are for a new game mode call Air Assault. As you could probably tell for yourself, Air Assault brings players into the skies. Dogfights and planes collide in this new mode, that could include a “climactic face-off with Airships.”
Apocalypse includes many new items, including weapons, an aircraft, and gadgets:
As you can see above, one of the new melee weapons is a cleaver, while the other is a prybar, which isn’t shown.
6 New Guns
There is only one gun displayed, the Chauchat-Ribeyrolles SMG, but there are five more to look forward to when Apocalypse launches.
This is one gadget that will deal heavy damage to enemy aircraft, the AA Rocket Gun for the Assault Class.
Two new aircraft will be available for the Caporetto map, he Hansa Brandenburg GI and the Airco DH10.
Other New Additions
All new challenges have also been added to Apocalypse, including New Weapons Assignments and Service Assignments. Complete the Service Assignments to be rewarded with Specializations.
A new Specialization type is also available, Afflictions. This is for more advanced players who wish to prove their skill. Afflictions will hamper your soldier, activating “Mortal” will make you lose 500 score for every respawn, while with “Paranoia” you can play with a gas mask on constantly.
Players can also expect to see the new Livens Projector, which shoots poisonous gas onto your enemies. Plus, new Dog Tags, Service Stars, Codex Entries, Medals, and Ribbons you can add to your collection.
Before Apocalypse, Premium Pass owners call look forward to the North Sea campaign of the previous expansion, Turning Tides. Additonally, all Battlefield 1 owners can access a free map, Prise de Tahure, which was once a DLC exclusive map.
