Ubisoft apparently needed a week delay for the latest DLC, The Curse of the Pharaohs, which was intended to be released on March 6th. Instead, it will now launch of March 13th.
A general reason of “delivering the best experience for players” was given by Ubisoft. This expansion is included in the $20 season pass, or can be purchased separately on all platforms. However, every player gets access to the introductory quest of the Curse of Pharaohs. You can play Light Among the Dunes, as part of a free update, on February 27th (if there’s no delay).
The Curse of the Pharaohs takes you to the new locations, like Thebes and Valley of the Kings. Expect to see “camel-sized scorpions”, Anubis-like guards, and undead pharaohs. The pharaohs will randomly manifest and have a time-limit to defeat. If you can beat this mini-bosses before they go back to they go back, you will acquire loot and save some civilians. However, Ubisoft warns they’re the most threatening part of the DLC and the game.
Bayek is also receiving a level cap increase, to 55, along with seven new unlock-able abilities.
The storyline surrounds the Pharaoh’s Curse, which is caused by graves robbers desecrating the Valley of the Kings. This brings the pharaohs out to Thebes, where they are slaughtering the innocent. Bayek is tasked with finding key artifacts of each pharaoh, so he can put them to rest.
