Alan Wake Remastered was officially announced during the PlayStation Showcase today, which gave us a new trailer showing off the revamped visuals. Sony also revealed the game’s release date as October 5th.
This release date was previous leaked before it was officially revealed. Alan Wake Remastered is a 4K version of the original game, which features both of its DLC expansions: The Signal and The Writer. The trailer showed off the visuals with the game’s main story cinematics, as well as it’s combat system. You can check out the video below.
This is the first time Alan Wake has ever been on a PlayStation console. The game was first released back in 2010, only appearing on Xbox 360 and PC.
The remaster’s announcement comes after a resurgence of interest in the game due to the ties it shares with Remedy Entertainment’s most recent game, Control. Easter eggs from Control’s DLC, AWE, directly connects the two games. Remedy only recently acquired the publishing rights for Alan Wake in 2019, sparking rumors of Alan Wake 2 being in development. Since Alan Wake Remastered is now on the scene, Remedy just might be working on furthering Alan’s story.
The remaster is set to release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (through Epic Games Store).
