On the PlayStation blog, Ska Studios announced today they will be bringing Salt and Sanctuary to the PS Vita on March 28th.
For anyone who is unaware of what Salt and Sanctuary is, it is a 2D platformer RPG that “seeks to capture the danger and mystery of a haunted, unforgiving world, with the freedom of exploration and customization, and the weight of your choices impacting each playthrough in significant ways.”
The game was supposed to launch on the PS Vita the same time as the PS4 version, but the two-person team was overambitious and couldn’t get them out at together. In reality, Ska Studios did not actually make the PS Vita version of Salt and Sanctuary, Sickhead Games did. Sickhead Games is responsible for games like Stardew Valley and Darkest Dungeon, so the PS Vita version of Salt and Sanctuary is in good hands.
Ska Studios did a small amount of their own spunk into it, adding the HUD elements, tightening some camera angles, tweaking and effect or two when needed. According to Ska, “our contribution on the project was pretty minimal.”
Cross-Buy
If you bought Salt and Sanctuary a year ago, you will get the game for free on the PS Vita, March 28th. Obviously if you buy the game on March 28th you will get both.
