343 Industries Denies Reports It’s Being Taken Off Halo Series

After a large set of lay­offs and rumors sur­round­ing the future of Halo, devel­op­er 343 Indus­tries has revealed it is still work­ing on Halo.

An ear­li­er report claimed 343 would no longer be devel­op­ing Halo games, instead man­ag­ing exter­nal part­ners work­ing on the fran­chise. This led to the offi­cial Halo Twit­ter account to release a pub­lic response.

“Halo and Mas­ter Chief are here to stay” said stu­dio head Pierre Hintze. “343 Indus­tries will con­tin­ue to devel­op Halo now and in the future, includ­ing epic sto­ries, mul­ti­play­er, and more of what makes Halo great.”

It’s been a tough cou­ple of months for 343 Indus­tries. The stu­dio was ham­mered hard by Microsoft­’s lay­offs, and head of cre­ative Joe Stat­en left to return to Xbox Games Publishing.
