Today is the day! Microsoft announced they would be releasing 13 original Xbox games and they have delivered. Xbox One owners can now purchase and play these amazing originals, as was promised.
All of thirteen of these original Xbox titles are enhanced with 1080p resolution, overall better framerates, and faster loading times. It will definitely all-around look and play better than they ever did, but you probably won’t confuse them for today’s brand new titles. Below is the full list of all 13 games that came to Xbox One’s Backwards Compatibility program today:
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Ninja Gaiden Black
- Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
- Fuzion Frenzy
- Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
- Psychonauts
- Dead to Rights
- Black
- Grabbed by the Ghoulies
- Sid Meier’s Pirates!
- Red Faction II
- BloodRayne 2
- The King of Fighters Neowave
If you still own the original disc (for the few who probably do) just insert it into your Xbox One. If you own any of these games digitally, that works too. You can buy most of these right off the Xbox Store for $9.99.
The System Link multiplayer some of these titles support still works. Although, online multiplayer is not supported, because servers for these games were shut down ages ago (online Xbox support ended in 2010). Don’t expect to see more original Xbox anytime soon, as the next additions are stated to be out in Spring 2018.
